Flexible working hours

Our Australian and New Zealand CEO, Clive Stiff, shares how we’re building a balanced and inclusive organisation and playing our part to achieving gender equality in Australia.

“At Unilever, we’ve embraced flexible working to help make it easier for our people to balance work and family commitments. But there is more we can do to create a culture of “all roles flex” and normalise flexibility particularly for men - a critical unlock to enable both men and women to manage their career and family ambitions.

“In 2016 we also launched our “Victim of Crime, Domestic and Family Violence” Policy to support employees affected by violence and help break the social stigma around this issue. We believe the workplace can play an important role in tackling Domestic Violence – we want all our employees to feel safe, supported and able to bring their whole selves to work.

“As a father of two daughters and a son, I’m also personally passionate about achieving gender equality and creating a world where each of them can thrive and reach their full potential. That’s why this year I joined Male Champions of Change, an initiative that brings together men in positions of influence to help increase the representation of women in leadership positions across Australia.

“Stepping up beside women to drive change is not only the right thing to do but it also makes good business sense.”
