Unilever Australia voluntarily recalls 1.25 and 2l BLUE RIBBON ice cream tubs due to possible presence of plastic pieces

04 May, 2016: As a precautionary measure Unilever is voluntarily recalling 1.25L and 2L tubs of Blue Ribbon ice cream due to the possible presence of plastic pieces.

We have been made aware of a very small number of cases where plastic pieces have been found in these products and could present a risk of injury.

The affected products have best before dates between 28th April 2017 – 27th April 2018. The recall affects products sold through retail outlets across Australia.

Consumers are advised not to eat the affected products and should return empty ice cream tubs to the place of purchase for a full refund.

As a precaution, if consumers are unable to see the best before date on any Blue Ribbon plastic ice cream tubs, we advise they return the empty tub back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Products with a best before date from 28th April 2018 onwards are not affected.

If consumers have any questions they can contact Unilever by calling 1800 801 885 or emailing consumerrelations.uanz@unilever.com

We thank everyone for their cooperation and apologise for the inconvenience caused by this recall.

Blue Ribbon products are proudly made in Australia and our focus is always on the health and safety of our consumers and maintaining our high quality standards.
