Our Code of Business Principles sets out the standards of behaviour we expect all employees to adhere to. This is no different when it comes to taxation. While Unilever has a clear responsibility to comply in full with the laws in the countries in which we operate, we also choose to do this by respecting not only the letter of the law but also the underlying tax policy intent. We’re continually working to help fulfil our purpose as a business – To Make Sustainable Living Commonplace.
Taking a big stand for small business
From July 1, 2018 we’ve adopted the Business Council of Australia voluntary supplier payment code for eligible Australian small business suppliers. This means where Unilever in Australia spends less than $50,000 per annum with a supplier the payment terms will be 30 days from correct invoice submission. It’s about all business, big and small, working to ensure healthy cash flows and help build business vitality.
