Unilever achieved an overall score of 94%, up 1% on the 2005 result. The CRI assesses the extent to which corporate strategy is integrated into responsible business practice throughout an organisation. It provides a benchmark for companies to evaluate their management practice in four key areas of corporate responsibility —community, environment, marketplace and workplace — and performance in a range of environmental and social impact areas material to their business.
Unilever scored above 90% in the categories of Corporate Strategy, Integration, Management Practice, Social Impact, Assurance and Commitment to Disclose, and scored just below 90% in the area of Environmental Impact. The company also received an Outstanding Performance rating (i.e. a score > 95%) in the areas of Environment Management and Workplace Management.
