Unilever's Graduate Development Program
Everybody has the potential to be a leader, so we're not expecting you to be an expert already! But with the right foundation, we will help you realise your potential, exceed your expectations and accelerate your career development.This program is the first (of hopefully many!) key learning journey you will go through in Unilever. The program is made up of 3 key components.
On-the-job
The first is the "on-the-job" stuff. Research shows us that 70% of what leaders learn is learnt on-the-job. So we've created opportunities for you to have a real job, in a safe way. You will work with your manager to agree some challenging targets to be achieved in your first year, as well as an individual development plan to help you achieve the targets. Much time will be spent in identifying your key development areas and finding ways to develop these areas.
Learning Programs
We have carefully selected world-class learning programs to build fundamental self leadership and business skills. Throughout your first 12 months with us you will spend time in these learning programs with your graduate peers, and then you will be given opportunities to try out your new skills in your job.
Cross-Functional Exposure
Talk to any senior leader and they will tell you that to be successful, you need to know the whole pie, not just your individual piece! On this program you will spend time getting to know each of the functions, visiting factories, supermarket stores and observing senior leadership meetings. This is a crucial component of your development that will start to set you apart from your colleagues. You will also be given cross-functional business projects which will really cement your understanding of how Unilever works.
