Vice President Supply Chain
John was born and educated in Sydney, completing a degree in commerce, majoring in accounting, at the University of NSW.
John joined Unilever in the internal audit department. Over the next 10 years he occupied a number of positions mainly in Spreads, Personal Care and also in the corporate area. The positions were, in the main, accounting-based but also included a period as Company Planning & Distribution Manager in the spreads business.
In early 1984 John transferred to Rotterdam (Unilever’s joint worldwide HQ), spending three years as management accountant in the Spreads group, returning to Australia in late 1986 to the position of Group Accountant, Unilever Australia, and then to Commercial Director, Streets Ice Cream in July 1988.
In 1995 John moved to Unilever Australia Export as General Manager, and in 1997 to Category Director of the Spreads and Bakery business unit. In February 2001 John was appointed to the position of Vice President Supply Chain, Unilever Australasia.
He is married with two sons. His leisure time revolves around his family, but he also enjoys swimming, surfing and golf.
