Purchase any 2 Lipton Ice Tea Products in a single transaction from participating foodcourt outlets displaying promotional “Win a Trip to Tahi-TEA” material and enter for your chance to win.

How to enter

1. To enter, simply purchase any 2 Lipton Ice Tea Products (“Participating Products”) in a single transaction from participating foodcourt outlets displaying promotional “Win a Trip to Tahi-TEA” material, between 15/09/08 and 19/12/08 to receive a gamecard.

2. Scratch the latex panel on the gamecard to reveal if you are an instant winner.

3. To enter the major prize draw, SMS your code (found under the latex panel) and your first name, eg. 12345678 John to 19 919 904 during the Promotional Period. Entries are deemed accepted at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission.

4. The SMS entry mechanic is only open to consumers with a SMS compatible mobile phone connected to a service provider which permits text messaging to the promotional SMS number. It is recommended that entrants check with their individual service provider in this regard.  SMS entrants will receive a reply message as confirmation of their entry. The person whose mobile service is used to send the SMS message is deemed the Entrant. Entrants who use another person’s phone may be disqualified.

5. Maximum entry cost is $0.55 (including GST).  Service not available from payphones.

6. Entrants may enter as many times as they wish, provided that each separate entry is based on the purchase of two Participating Products in the one transaction.

7. Please retain your original gamecard as proof of purchase for all entries. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of purchase for each entry made to verify all entries before awarding the prize. Consumers may enter as many times as they like provided each entry must be associated with a separate purchase of 2 Participating Products. Failure to produce proof of purchase for all entries when requested may in the absolute discretion of the Promoter result in the invalidation of all of an Entrant’s entries and forfeiture of any right to a prize.

Terms & conditions

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry.

2. Entry into this promotion is deemed to be acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, participating outlets and their agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

4. Promotion commences at 09:00 EST on 15/09/08 and closes at 17:00 EDST on 19/12/08 (“Promotional Period”).

5. Instant winners will be entitled to the prize displayed on the gamecard. Instant win prizes include: 5,200 LIT Frisbees (RRP $10), 800 Sanity Music Vouchers (RRP $10) and 4,000 Vaseline Lip Therapy 20g tin (RRP $3.99) There are a total of 400 participating foodcourt outlets. Total RRP of instant win prizes is valued at up to $75,960. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

The major prize draw will take place at Level 2, 50 Yeo Street, Neutral Bay NSW 2089 at 15.00 EDST on 08/01/09. Winners will be contacted by phone, mail and sms and the winners name will be published in The Australian 16/01/09. The first valid entry drawn will win: return economy class airfares for 2 people from winners closest capital city to Papeete (French Polynesia), 4 nights accommodation at Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa in a Garden Bungalow, Return catamaran transfers from Papeete to Moorea, plus 2 nights accommodation pre and post at the Intercontinental Resort Tahiti in a Garden View Room. Prize must be taken between 16/02/09 and 18/07/09 must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to departure and is subject to availability. Major Prize is valued at up to $8,200 RRP depending on the point of departure and is subject to hotel and flight availability. Arrangements for travel cannot be changed once the booking has been made.

6. It is a condition of accepting the prize that all components of the prize be taken during the trip and all persons taking the trip depart from & return to the winner's nearest capital city at the same time unless otherwise agreed by the Promoter & that all persons taking the trip sign a waiver of liability & an indemnity in the form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion

7. The winner is responsible for their entry, and the entry of their guests, into the destination country and all countries en route, including the holding of any necessary passports and visas. No compensation will be payable if a winner, or their guest, is unable to use the prize as stated for whatever reason, including denial of entry into any country, or cancellation or postponement of an event, or any part of an event. 

8. If winner of any Prize is under the age of 18 years at the closing date of the promotion, the Prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian at the absolute discretion of the Promoter.

9. Prize cannot be taken during the following periods: School Holidays, Australian Public Holiday Long Weekends or the Easter Weekend 2009.


10.  In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an alternative travel destination to the same value as the original prize or, subject to any written directions given by the various Lottery Departments, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

11. Except where expressly included in a particular package, the winner and their companion are responsible for all other expenses including transfers, spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, laundry charges, activities (other then those specified), incidentals, taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs.  Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.


12. Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule.  Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.

13. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. 

14. Prize value is inclusive of GST and is in Australian dollars.

15. Total prize pool is valued at up to $84,160.00.

16. The Promoter may conduct an unclaimed prize draw if necessary at the same place as the original draw at 15.00 EDST on 09/04/09 in order to distribute any prize(s) if it remains unclaimed by that date. The winner’s name(s) and postcode(s) will be published in The Australian on 16/04/09.

17. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries received after the closing time and date.

18. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Inaudible, incomprehensible and illegible entries will be deemed invalid. Any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions will be invalid.

19. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, age and residency. Any details entered incorrectly shall invalidate the entry at the discretion of the Promoter. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry, which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry and the prize will be redrawn in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

20. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted from that source and by those entrants invalid.

21. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify all entries from and prohibit further participation in this competition by any person who tampers with, or benefits from any tampering with, the entry process or the operation of the game, acts in violation of these conditions of entry, acts in a disruptive manner, or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

22. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from a winner accepting a prize.  Independent financial advice should be sought.

23.  In the event that for any reason whatsoever the winner of a prize does not accept the prize, or any part thereof, at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize, or any part thereof, will be forfeited by the winner. Prizes can not be transferred or redeemed for cash.

24. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to provide the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute prize(s) to the same and equal recommended retail value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from the various Lottery Departments.

25. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with accepting any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. 

26. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination included in the prize. Travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

27. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and companions) may be required to sign a legal release in a form to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

28. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries including SMS messages not received by the Promoter or delays in the delivery of the SMS message due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason. SMS entries via the internet or computer generation and not attributable to a valid mobile phone account is invalid and will not be accepted. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this promotion, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this promotion including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or website, software failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries and any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any materials in the promotion.

29. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and, subject to any written directions given by any relevant Regulatory Authority, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

30. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering this promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages.
