The sticks are made from hooped pinewood. Hooped pine is a native Australian tree. The trees for our sticks are plantation trees. Why are tubs of BLUE RIBBON ice cream made from cardboard?

One of the reasons Unilever Australasia changed its packaging was a result of a request by the Federal Government under the new National Packaging Covenant that states that all industries should focus on environmentally friendlier packaging materials. Unilever Australasia produced around 7 million tubs per year of the old non-recyclable PET plastic and our mission was to achieve a tub that could be recycled.
