Dandruff is scaling of the scalp. On a normal scalp the upper layer of the epidermis is lost gradually as a fine powder which is virtually invisible. When the scalp is irritated larger sheets of cells are lost. These are dandruff flakes. The cause of dandruff is not clearly defined but is thought to be related to the presence of microflora on the scalp. The best way to control dandruff is to use a 'medicated' product such as SUNSILK Scalp Care Dandruff Control, which uses the ingredient Piroctone Olamine. This is a clinically proven antidandruff ingredient which prevents the breakdown of sebum into substances which can irritate the scalp and cause increased scaling. When using your SUNSILK Mousse, firstly shake the can well. Remove the cap and turn the can upside down. Dispense the mousse into your hand. Start with an amount the size of a golf ball. Adjust the amount depending on hair styling requirements and your hair length. Spread the mousse through your wet hair and style as required (eg blow dryer, curling iron, finger style). Note: it is very important to shake the SUNSILK Mousse can before use and to turn upside down before dispensing. This ensures that the propellant is adequately mixed with the other ingredients in the mousse, and that the product will be in a mousse or foam form when dispensed. If you don’t follow this procedure, your mousse will come out as runny liquid or may not dispense at all.
